Overview

Our specialist in-house forensic services group provides you with a full-service option when managing disputes. As part of our instruction to trial service, we are now able to provide instant access to accounting advice on the financial aspects of litigation, arbitration and investigations. Our clients benefit from greater efficiency in case management and related communications resulting in significant cost and time savings.

FORENSIC ACCOUNTING

Our in-house forensic accounting unit enables us to examine the quantum aspects of a claim, at a very early stage, before instructing independent experts if required. We are not only better equipped to select the most appropriate independent experts, but also to ensure that instructions and documents are provided in a structured and cost efficient way. We:

  • Work with clients’ accounting teams to prepare claims for loss of profits in commercial and contract disputes.
  • Provide comments on claims for damages received from the other side.
  • Prepare valuations of businesses for use in breach of warranty claims, compulsory purchase orders, shareholder and other disputes.
  • Undertake detailed analysis and interpretation of accounting records.
  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams on the investigation of fraud and other financial irregularities, including asset tracing.
  • Assist in the identification and review of accounting books and records during the disclosure/eDisclosure process.
  • Identify, instruct and project managing the involvement of independent expert.

FORENSIC TECHNOLOGY

Our in-house forensic technology unit provides the capability for data and documentation to be reviewed and hosted using our in-house eDisclosure platform. We operate a computerised litigation support system which enables the creation of a database that holds all documentation that have been produced by our client and by other parties to the litigation. Our document database allows:

  • a speedy and effective forensic examination of the documents;
  • open access for our client;
  • appropriate access for experts and Counsel; and
  • assisting in the preparation of witness evidence.
