New Employment Head appointed at BLP

International law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), has appointed Lisa Mayhew as Head of its growing Employment, Pensions and Incentives (EPI) practice.

Mayhew joined BLP in 2010 and has since undertaken a pivotal role in defining BLP’s Employment practice, having been on the Firm’s board since 2012. Mayhew will oversee the firm’s EPI group, which now has six partners. Some of the group’s clients include investment banks and large corporates.

As part of her career highlights, Mayhew successfully defended Merrill Lynch in the UK’s biggest-ever sex discrimination case, brought by Stephanie Villalba, which ended in 2006.

Lisa said: “This is an exciting time for the BLP employment team which has, and continues to enjoy an upward journey, progressing from a small team with medium market profile and clients, to becoming one of the largest teams in the City and a Tier 1 ranked practice in the leading legal directories. I aim to consolidate the recent successes of the team and continue to provide a market-leading service to our corporate clients.”

Mayhew replaces Fraser Younsen who left the Firm after heading up the EPI team for several years.
