Neville Eisenberg elected as BLP Senior Partner
Neville Eisenberg has been elected Senior Partner at BLP for a four year term starting 1 May 2015. Neville succeeds Harold Paisner who has been in the role since the merger which formed Berwin Leighton Paisner in 2001.
Neville is currently BLP’s Managing Partner and will be succeeded by Lisa Mayhew on 1 May 2015.
During his 16 years as Managing Partner, Neville led BLP’s transformation into a global law firm with 12 offices in 10 countries and a network of over 100 law firms across the world. The internationalisation of the firm was accompanied by a growth strategy and quality drive which resulted in the firm achieving market-leading rankings in a range of sectors and practices.
Neville has also championed and led the firm’s renowned programme of client service innovation. In the last year alone, this has produced the launch of the firm’s Integrated Client Service Model (ICSM), a Client Service Delivery centre in Manchester, Streamline (the firm’s expert legal process improvement service) and strong growth in Lawyers On Demand – a market leading “new law” business now widely copied by other firms.
As BLP has become synonymous with innovation in the legal sector, the firm’s general success has been widely recognised through multiple awards including seven Law Firm of the Year awards and was recently placed in the top five in the FT’s European Innovative Lawyer Report.
Commenting on Neville’s appointment, Chairman Robert MacGregor said: “I am delighted BLP will have the benefit of Neville’s vast experience in his new role as Senior Partner. He has proven his leadership qualities during a turbulent time in the industry and played a pivotal role in BLP’s success. Committed to both clients and innovation, he has challenged us to deliver legal services in ways which better suit the needs of our clients. As a result we have pioneered many innovations, including Lawyers On Demand, which are the envy of our peers. My thanks go to Harold for his dedicated service to the firm over 14 years as Senior Partner.”
Neville commented: “Having the opportunity to serve the firm as Managing Partner as part of a truly inspired management team has been a great privilege. I am very pleased with the strength of the platform we have developed at BLP – we are now extraordinarily well positioned for great achievements in the future. In my new role I am looking forward to concentrating on the firm’s international business, client development and separately managed businesses and am really delighted to have this opportunity to continue to be part of BLP’s amazing success story”.
