Mid Europa Partners has increased its stake in Energy 21 to 95%

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner acted for Mid Europa Partners on its acquisition of an additional stake in Energy 21.

Energy 21 is the largest Czech-based independent operator of solar power (photovoltaic) parks in Central and Eastern Europe.

The deal was led by partner Robert Gross and senior associate Kiran Arora.

Commenting on the deal Robert Gross said; “We were delighted to act for Mid Europa on its further investment in the solar power sector. This was a multi-jurisdictional transaction which involved the Czech Republic, England, Guernsey, Luxembourg and The Netherlands. It was therefore particularly important to coordinate and oversee the process efficiently in order that all of the relevant work streams could come together at completion.”

Berwin Leighton Paisner’s renewables team advises a variety of clients across the sector on all areas including solar, wind and biomass. The team advises on all legal issues relating to the development, financing and operation of renewable energy assets and related infrastructure. Our clients in this sector include sponsors, financiers, contractors and government agencies.
