BLP’s finance department continues dramatic growth – Steve Clark joins Real Estate Finance team

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) today announced that Steve Clark, an expert in cross-border real estate finance is joining the firm as a partner.

Steve is currently in the banking team at Dechert.  He qualified with Clifford Chance and spent eight years working within their Banking department before joining Addleshaws as a partner. He headed up the Real Estate Finance team at Ashurst and has also been partner at Sidley Austin.

Steve will join BLP’s highly ranked Real Estate Finance team, which includes five other partners. It is consistently acknowledged by independent commentators as one of the leading real estate finance practices and acts on the industry’s most complex and innovative deals for the leading banks, financial institutions and borrowers. These includes the high street clearing banks, investment banks, global institutional investors, major international funds and equity providers, property companies and developers and the public sector.

The appointment is the latest in a string of recent, partner-level hires to BLP’s Finance department, including Simon Small, Paul Simcock, and Keith Wilson. In the last month, the firm also recruited leading project finance expert Andrei Baev, banking specialist Derek Hrydziuszko and structured finance partner Prashanth Satyadeva.
