BLP strengthens Corporate Practice with hire of Investment Funds specialist
International law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), has today announced the appointment of Nicola Hopkins as a Funds Partner in the Firm’s global Corporate Practice.
Previously at Linklaters in London until 2013, Nicola was made a Partner in the Investment Management group in 2007, where she also headed the funds review practice, and was one of the youngest and first female funds partners at the firm.
As an Investment Funds specialist based in BLP’s London office, Nicola will use her expertise in the structuring, establishing and reconstructing of open and closed-ended institutional investment funds – both onshore and offshore.
Nicola joins a strong corporate practice team at BLP with over 200 lawyers, including 52 partners worldwide. Nicola’s experience working on complex and innovative deals across jurisdictions and practice areas will complement BLP’s corporate practice, in which the London team works closely alongside lawyers in Brussels, Paris, Moscow, the UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing.
Antony Grossman, Head of the Funds Group, said: “Nicola’s broad range of experience in investment funds will be a great asset to the BLP Funds team which has a series of relationships with leading fund managers many of which Nicola has worked with in the past.’
Nicola Hopkins said: “BLP is recognised as a leader in Investment Funds, particularly in Real Estate Funds, and enjoys strong institutional relationships and high profile clients. I look forward to joining BLP and helping further grow the investment funds practice.”
