BLP launches training contracts in Manchester

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (“BLP”) has today (Thursday 9 February) announced the introduction of trainee lawyer contracts in its Manchester office.

The positions will open shortly for applications from Manchester-based BLP employees, with successful applicants due to start in September 2017.

BLP already has five Legal Apprentices working in its Manchester office as part of the ‘Trailblazer Apprenticeship’ scheme, which offers a work-based learning route to qualification as a solicitor and takes 6-7 years to complete.

Mark Grayson, Head of Operations, Manchester, said: “The new trainee scheme is part of BLP’s commitment to offering long-term career progression for our employees and developing their talent.”

“Working in the largest legal market outside of London here in Manchester, our trainees will be a huge asset to the wider Firm.”

Opened in August 2014, BLP Manchester is comprised of Associate lawyers, Paralegals, Legal Apprentices and business service teams. Since launch, headcount has nearly quadrupled from 21 to 80, with the office expanding to drive the Firm’s integrated services to clients.
