BLP hires corporate insurance specialist

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) announced that Adam Bogdanor, a specialist in corporate insurance and reinsurance, has joined the firm as a partner.

Adam will add corporate expertise to the firm’s already strong position within the insurance market. He has acted for some of the major players in the long term insurance market, including Standard Life on its demutualisation. He has also advised several FTSE 100 companies on insurance-related matters including business transfers, reinsurance, mergers and acquisitions and management of with-profits funds. Adam joins the firm from Slaughter and May.

He will be working closely with fellow corporate insurance expert Pollyanna Deane who joined BLP in 2006.  BLP’s expertise in this area includes acting for insurers, reinsurers, brokers, agents and intermediaries, and the team was described by Chambers 2008 as  ‘quick and creative’. The firmwide team includes industry experts Jonathan Sacher, Anthony Lennox and Nathan Willmott.

Jonathan Sacher said: “It is great news that Adam is joining us. We already have a very strong position in this market, but his expertise gives us a wider range of skills to offer our existing clients, particularly in the life sector.”

Adam said: “I am really pleased to be joining the team. BLP is already highly respected in the market, with a number of leading individuals, and I will be looking to enhance their practice with my expertise.”
