BLP elects Robert MacGregor as its new Chairman

The international partnership at Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) today announced that Robert MacGregor has been elected as the next Chairman.

Robert, who is currently Head of Real Estate, will become Executive Chairman on 1 May. He will combine his existing responsibilities with his new role for a term of three years. Robert joined BLP in 2004 and has led the development of the firm’s Real Estate practice into a market leading position with a global footprint.

Robert succeeds current Chairman, Peter Robinson, who steps down on 30 April, having served in the role for more than 18 years. Peter, who helped drive BLP’s Asian expansion, including the establishment of the Singapore office, and played an instrumental role during the firm’s rapid growth, will continue to be involved in the firm’s Asian business.

Harold Paisner, the firm’s Senior Partner, was re-elected for another three-year term commencing on 1 May.

BLP Managing Partner, Neville Eisenberg, said: “I would like to thank Peter Robinson for his service to the firm and the considerable contribution that he has made to the business during his term as Chairman.

“Robert MacGregor and I have worked extremely well together since he joined the firm and I am delighted that we will now have the opportunity to work closely together on driving forward the firm’s future success.

“I am also very pleased that Harold Paisner will continue as Senior Partner and that the firm will therefore continue to benefit from his guidance and support.”
