BLP appoints Real Estate and Infrastructure Partner in Frankfurt
International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) today (1 March 2016) announces the appointment of Real Estate and Infrastructure Partner Boris Strauch. He joins the Firm’s Frankfurt office on 1 March 2016 from Dentons where he was a Counsel across its Frankfurt and Berlin offices.
Boris’ business is primarily advising both commercial investors and the public sector on all aspects of regulatory and public law with a core focus on Real Estate. He regularly advises developers and institutional investors and covers environmental, planning and infrastructure law.
Recognised as an industry expert in public law, Boris’ appointment will help BLP’s German offering adapt to the shifting needs of its clients. With real estate work requiring increasing levels of public law input, Boris’ appointment will enable the Firm to advise on every part of real estate deals (including building permissions, general construction agreements and environment regulations). His appointment will also help the Firm’s German team expand into development transactions and infrastructure deals.
Roland Fabian, Managing Partner, BLP Germany, commented: “Germany is Europe’s most active Real Estate market so there is huge potential for us as a Firm in the region, with high levels of investment set to continue across European Real Estate. Adding Boris’ specialised skills positions us perfectly to take advantage of this growing opportunity.
“With the hiring of six lawyers from Orrick in October into our Berlin office, it has been a hugely successful year already for our team across Germany. Appointing Boris adds additional expertise to the Firm which will really enhance our offering to clients and with the current regulatory focus in Germany on renewable energies and energy efficiencies in the Real Estate sector, this is a fantastic appointment for us.”
Prior to his time at Dentons, Boris was at legacy firm Salans in its Real Estate and Regulatory and Public Law practice groups. He started his professional career in Linklaters’ Real Estate team in Frankfurt.
