BLP advises The Bondcare Group on acquisitions

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has recently advised long-standing client The Bondcare Group, a major provider of care homes and residential nursing homes in the UK, on a series of transactions resulting from the restructuring of the Southern Cross group.

BLP advised Bondcare on:

●  the return to Bondcare of 39 care home businesses and the associated properties that were previously leased to and operated by Southern Cross;

●  the lease and operation of seven care homes owned by the Daejan group; and

●  the purchase of an additional three care home businesses.

These transactions underline BLP’s strong presence across the whole breadth of the healthcare sector.

The BLP team advising The Bondcare Group was led by corporate finance partner Jonathan Morris, working with corporate partner Nick Myatt, real estate partners David Levy and Barry Gross and restructuring senior associate Ian Benjamin.

Commenting on these transactions, Jonathan Morris said: “We are delighted to have advised our valued client The Bondcare Group on these deals and to be able to build upon our existing experience within the healthcare sector and the care industry. Our multi-disciplinary team worked hard to deliver for Bondcare the addition of multiple care homes and associated businesses to their portfolio.”

Clifford Chance advised Southern Cross. Ashurst advised Daejan.
