BLP advises Playtech on £112m fundraising

Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP (BLP) is advising Playtech Limited, a leading online gambling software provider, on its placing to raise £112m for the purposes of financing future acquisitions.

Playtech is a longstanding client of BLP which also acted on Playtech’s £548.3m flotation on AIM in March 2006, one of the largest AIM IPOs at that time.

The BLP team was led by Corporate Finance Partner, Alex Latner, assisted by Gareth Jones. Commenting on the deal, David Collins, Head of Corporate Finance and Playtech client relationship partner, said:

“We are delighted to advise on this high profile fundraising. Given the challenging market conditions, the strong institutional appetite for the stock at a small discount to Playtech’s prevailing market price is a testament both to the very impressive growth of the business to date and the market’s confidence in management.”

Simmons & Simmons advised Collins Stewart, Playtech’s nomad and broker.
