BLP advises on Magenta Partners LLP’s investment in Pure Gym Limited

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has advised Magenta Partners LLP (Magenta) and others on their investment in Pure Gym Limited, a recently established chain of budget health clubs in England and Scotland.

Magenta is a private equity fund headed up by Tom Matthews and Chase Emson, who were both formerly of MidOcean Partners. Its principal founder and investors are the Tom Singh Family Trusts.

Magenta is a new client for BLP and an exciting addition to the already flourishing Private Equity and Venture Capital practice. BLP partner Raymond McKeeve led this deal, having worked closely with Magenta before he joined the firm in March 2009 to spearhead BLP’s private equity practice. Raymond was assisted by associate Alexis Karim on the transaction. This deal demonstrates the firm’s achievements to date in growing the practice and attracting new clients.

SJ Berwin advised Pure Gym Limited.
