BLP advises GfK on its acquisition of Leisure Travel Monitor company Ascent MI Limited
Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) advised new client GfK Retail and Technology (UK) Limited and its parent company GfK SE, a German company listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange, on the purchase of the entire share capital of Ascent Market Intelligence Limited (a UK private limited company).
The GfK Group is the No. 4 market research organization worldwide. Its activities cover the three business sectors of Custom Research, Retail and Technology and Media. Ascent MI provides market intelligence service to the travel sector on the UK outbound holiday market through the use of its uniquely created product, called Leisure Travel Monitor. The purchase of Ascent-MI by GfK SE complements the existing business of GfK, and will allow advanced regional reporting and analysis for the European market.
Corporate Finance partner Peter Martin and senior associate Miranda Morad led the BLP team.
