BLP advises E.ON on £30m PFI street lighting project

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) advised E.ON UK PLC as main contractor on the £30m Blackpool Street Lighting and Traffic Signals PFI project. E.ON is one of the leading power and gas companies in the UK. The 25-year contract will provide for the replacement and maintenance of more than 16,000 street lights and more than 100 traffic signal junctions in the Blackpool area.

Funding was provided to the PFI consortium, Community Lighting Partnership (Blackpool) Limited, by Barclays Bank and National Australia Bank.

The BLP team was headed by Projects Partner, Jim Buchanan and comprised, Kenneth Addly, Katherine Calder, Stephen Palmer, Mirren Waters and Richard Lloyd from the Projects Group.  Keely Hibbitt provided Corporate advice and Nicole Hallegua and David Dennison provided, respectively, Employment and Pensions advice. 

BLP is advising E.ON UK PLC on a further four PFI streetlighting projects, which have reached preferred bidder/final tender stage.
