Berwin Leighton Paisner advises Tourlane on series A financing round

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has advised Turlane in its recent series A financing round. Venture capital firms Holtzbrinck Ventures, Spark Capital and DN Capital invested a total of €7m in the Berlin based start-up.

Tourlane is a young tech company which provides customers a platform for booking personalised individual trips and adventure trips customised to their taste. The company offers travel consultation for these individualised packages through its platform and connects travellers with specialists around the world.

The company was founded by Julian Weselek and Julian Stiefel in 2016 under the name of Akawy GmbH. Following successful careers at Rocket Internet and Airbnb, the two founders set out to tackle the market for customised travel and adventure trips with Tourlane.

For the series A financing round, Tourlane was advised by BLP partner Dr Albrecht von Breitenbuch. He has comprehensive experience in advising entrepreneurs, start-ups and investors in the establishment of their companies, financing rounds and other strategic and legal issues facing new companies.

Albrecht’s practice has a special focus on tech companies and venture capital investors. Albrecht was supported in this transaction by Associate Nora Hoyer (Berlin).
