Principal Knowledge Development Lawyer, International Arbitration and Construction Disputes
Melissa is a knowledge development lawyer specialising in construction disputes. Before moving into knowledge management in 2015, Melissa was an experienced litigator, working as a senior associate in the construction and engineering department of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. During that time she advised owners, developers, major contractors, specialist subcontractors and consultants from the construction, engineering, rail, utilities and energy sectors, on disputes arising out of projects both in the UK and internationally.
She is experienced in resolving disputes arising out of standard and bespoke forms in various forums including adjudication, TCC litigation, domestic and international arbitration as well as mediation and other forms of ADR.
Melissa is a member of TeCSA and the Society of Construction Law. She regularly contributes commentary to the construction industry press. Melissa is a co-author of the tendering and procurement section of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors isurv website.
