A solicitor advocate and international arbitration counsel, Gavin heads the firm’s Litigation & Corporate Risk team in Singapore.
Gavin acts as counsel on disputes in a broad range of industry sectors including energy, power, telecommunications, technology, infrastructure, construction and international trade.
He has represented clients in arbitrations conducted under ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC, TOMAC and pure ad hoc arbitration rules, with arbitral seats in Asia and Europe.
Gavin spent ten years working in Tokyo acting for a range of Japanese and international clients, including a two-year secondment to a Japanese trading company.
He relocated to SE Asia in 2014, since when he has handled disputes involving Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia.
He sits as an arbitrator and is a panel member for SIAC, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre, the Thai Arbitration Institute and THAC.
Gavin also assists clients on corporate crime and risk issues (particularly with regard to the FCPA and UK Bribery Act), as well as internal investigations.
