Wills & Probate

loading, please wait...

Wealthy individuals often have personal assets, business interests and family members in a number of different jurisdictions. The different succession rules and probate procedures of multiple jurisdictions therefore need to be considered when advising on and drafting Wills for clients with cross-border interests.

Wills for clients with UK and international assets, and heirs in multiple jurisdictions can be highly complex and it is essential that local succession rules and inheritance and estate taxes are taken into consideration. The forced hiership or community of property rules of a particular jurisdiction may for example impact on the assets which may be freely disposed of by a testator. We have broad experience of drafting Wills of this nature. We also deal with all aspects of probate and estate administration for UK and cross-border estates advising personal representatives, trustees and heirs. We have considerable experience dealing with contentious and non-contentious complex high value cross-border estates.
