City of London: Trust and Values

In challenging times, it is more important than ever for the City to demonstrate that it operates morally and is worthy of trust, and that it explains its role in supporting growth.

To address these issues former Lord Mayor of London, Michael Bear, established an initiative focused on restoring trust in the City. The aim of this initiative was “to look at practical ways to embed the right values and behaviours in the DNA of every City business and worker.” It proved to be a catalyst for various works including a City Values Forum, developing the City Obligation and providing an Integrity Resources Website.

BLP’s long-standing association with the City and our previous work as a member of Tomorrow’s Company Stewardship Forum on Governance, made it a natural choice for the firm to support the initiative. As part of our involvement, our Managing Partner, Neville Eisenberg, participated in the “Trust and Values Conference”, which brought together prominent figures from across the City to review progress.
