Our Energy group is actively engaged in the power sector and represents domestic and international clients involved in all aspects of power generation, supply, transmission, distribution and offtake.

Our lawyers have considerable experience advising in respect of the building, owning and operation of power plants.  Our lawyers have acted on several of the world's leading power projects working alongside and sometimes as secondees within several of the major contractors.  We have vast experience of the development, project and financing agreements necessary for complex projects of this nature in various parts of the world.

On the supply side, we have an impressive track record acting for some of the world's leading oil and gas and energy companies, including those involved in the renewables sector.  We have a proven track record representing clients in the water and nuclear industries and we have also acted for several governments and regulatory bodies.

We are currently advising on a number of matters involving complex transmission and distribution systems. Our clients in this area range from licensed operators of national grids to local distribution network operators and developers of microgeneration and microgrids.

On the offtake side, we act for a number of power purchasers and power distributors.  We have advised regulatory bodies in various jurisdictions.  We have worked on a number of large power plant transactions worldwide, these invariably require knowledge of the offtake arrangements both in terms of project economics and due operation of the relevant facilities.
