On large scale complex negotiations we look to offer both high level strategic advice and practical advice. We aim to establish the client’s goals at the outset and then to recommend and agree a clear strategy and action plan for achieving those goals.

To achieve this, we first look to explore the justification for the stance to be adopted by the client and fully to understand the strengths and weaknesses not only of its case but also of those with whom we will be negotiating. Our approach includes taking the initiative wherever practicable and establishing levers designed to enable the client to be on the front foot wherever possible.

Our approach to negotiations is to be reasonable, resolute and tenacious in pursuit of our clients goals but to avoid aggression. We have no time for point-scoring or argument for argument’s sake.
