Paralegals at BLP are integral to the work that we do. Our paralegals gain exposure to a wide variety of work and gain valuable hands on experience, placing them in the best position to progress their future career in law.
We look for committed, intelligent, positive and hardworking team players. Ideally candidates would have obtained a 2:1 in their degree and completed the LPC, as well as obtaining good A-level results: preferably AAB, equivalent to 320 UCAS points.
Due to the inevitable fluctuation in workflows across the firm, we expect our paralegals to show flexibility in moving between practice groups to assist with particular resourcing requirements on a needs basis. This model provides our paralegals with the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of work, working with different people, enabling them to increase their overall learning experience and development.
Many of our paralegals have initially joined on a contract basis and due to their contribution, commitment and hard work, gone on to become valuable permanent employees. In some instances individuals have also obtained a training contract and successfully qualified at the firm. Whilst the firm is supportive of paralegals progressing through to qualification, being a paralegal at the firm does not automatically mean they will be accepted for a training contract. They are, however, eligible to apply for a training contract, but applications are based purely on their own merit.
