Laura Robson

Laura is one of the country’s leading young tennis players and currently has a world ranking of 254. At the age of 14 she was ranked number one in the world in her age group, and was competing, and making finals, in under-18 international tournaments. 

In April 2010, Laura reached the doubles quarter-finals of the Dothan Pro-Classic Tennis event in Alabama, and the semi-finals singles for the same event. Earlier this year, she made it to the final of the 2010 Australian Open Junior Championships, and partnered Andy Murray in the Hopman Cup.

In November 2008, Laura won her first senior title with victory in the ITF-sanctioned women's tournament in Sunderland.  Laura spent December in Florida before reaching the final of the junior open in Australia in January.  In June 2008, Laura won the Eastbourne junior tournament and, the following week, was a finalist on grass at the Roehampton international event.  She then crowned a memorable week at Wimbledon by winning the junior title.  The youngest player in the tournament, she defeated the number three seed in the final to become the first British junior champion for 24 years.
