Knowledge Management

Knowledge is key to what we do.  We believe that giving our lawyers easy access to the collective knowledge of the firm makes us fleet of foot, efficient and best placed to create connections between different disciplines.  This combination of skills produces creative and rounded practitioners.

We have invested heavily in our IT systems for know-how and in our Knowledge Development Lawyer (our term for PSL) team.  This investment has paid off: “BLP is head and shoulders above my previous firm when it comes to know-how services” (lateral hire associate) and “I don't know what we would do without our KDL team” (Real Estate partner).

Our KM expertise is increasingly being repositioned as a client offering.  Our KDLs are playing a key role in developing innovative and flexible added value solutions for the firm’s clients.

The team of KDLs and research librarians is led by Lucy Dillon, the firm’s Director of Knowledge Management.  Lucy is a lawyer with over 15 years experience of KM in the legal profession.  She is a regular speaker at KM conferences and has contributed articles to legal, business and KM journals.  Our KDLs also speak at external conferences, both on Knowledge Management and on their technical legal areas of expertise.
