Our IP litigators are highly experienced in the enforcement and defence of all forms of IP rights. We have a particularly strong reputation in copyright, design right and trade mark disputes.

The practice is led by partners Simon Clark and Ian De Freitas who have a wealth of dispute resolution experience. This was reflected in our nomination for the award for excellence in IP litigation at the WORLDLeaders Global IP Awards 2007.

Our practice is unusual in that we have often acted for both sides of an industry sector in disputes. For example, our experience in acting for designers is invaluable in representing retail clients accused of copying designs. 

We are supported by all of the technology that you would expect from a leading City litigation practice. The value of this was demonstrated in a case where we had to prepare the entire defence in just four weeks. Extensive disclosure was required, but we were able to handle this in-house with our disclosure and document management system. This was vital to the successful defence of the claim.

We give you a sensible pragmatic view of your position, always mindful of costs. We do not encourage litigation where this can be avoided. But when necessary we will pursue or defend claims vigorously for you.
