  • Advised London-based fund manager Letterstone plc on a €1bn European property investment venture with Starr International (Starr). 
  • Advised The Mall Unit Trust and The Mall Limited Partnership, the UK’s leading owner and operator of community shopping centres, on a £286.3m open offer of new units in The Mall Fund.
  • Advising Barings Asset Management, on the launch of a number of schemes of arrangement and fund launches.  The Fund launches related to the BAM China Growth Fund (a UCITS III sub-fund of the existing Baring UK Umbrella Fund) and the Baring Global Agriculture Fund, also a UCITS III fund.
  • Advised long standing client Close Investments Limited on the establishment and launch of a European Real Estate fund for retail and institutional investments. 
  • Advised Valad Property Group (formerly Teesland iOG) on the establishment of a French real estate fund. 
  • Advised 360 Asset Management on hedge fund issues, a start up hedge fund manager on seeding arrangements.
  • Advised on the creation of a stocklending program for a sovereign wealth fund.
  • Involved in some significant matters arising out of the insolvency of Lehman Brothers and the state of the financial markets, including some innovative insolvency-proofing arrangements for the trades of fund managers and organisations trading with fund managers. This includes an instruction from a large US bank in relation to a US$1bn repo trade with Lehman Brothers for a group of investment funds.
  • Advised on the launch of the 4rae renewable energy fund, a private equity fund.
  • Advised Stonehage on the launch of its global real estate private equity fund.
  • Advised Spinnaver Capital on its post credit crunch fund reorganisation.
