Equity Capital Markets

loading, please wait...

It remains a challenging environment for companies seeking to raise equity capital in the public markets. The turmoil over Eurozone sovereign debt, an inconclusive General Election in the UK, and the aftermath of the BP oil spillage in the Gulf of Mexico have all contributed to the significant volatility in the stock markets, resulting in several proposed flotations being pulled, or at least postponed, during the early part of the year.

Nevertheless the log-jam of IPOs and secondary fundraisings continues to build, and, absent any more national, market or corporate disasters, there is a growing sentiment that the second half of the year will see higher levels of ECM transactional activity.

We act for a strong and growing portfolio of issuers and advisers, capitalising on the firm’s deep market presence and our industry sector strengths. Notwithstanding the downturn, our experienced team has continued to build its market share of ECM transactions, for both UK and international businesses.

We are leaders in the corporate finance mid-market, and have been ranked number one for London market flotations and AIM work for five consecutive years (Chambers UK and Legal 500).

"The capital markets and corporate finance practices at Berwin Leighton Paisner combine to form one of the finest AIM-focused groups in the marketplace" (Chambers UK, 2010)
