Getting EIA wrong has proven to be the most likely cause of legal challenges to the grant of planning permissions

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)

loading, please wait...

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has rapidly become one of the most important aspects of the domestic planning system, and is also frequently the key to the international acceptability of project for funding .  Getting it wrong can also prove to be one of the most likely cause of legal challenges to the grant of planning permissions.  Our expertise and wide-ranging experience helps clients (whether developers or public authorities) to spot and overcome the pitfalls, and in doing so to manage risk effectively.

Working with other specialist disciplines within the client team we advise on tactics and  procedural requirements for EIA.  We also review draft documentation with a view to highlighting areas of potential risk, and suggesting strategies for managing that risk.

Should it become necessary to go to Court we also have extensive experience in both pursuing and defending judicial reviews of planning decisions where the claim is founded on EIA grounds.
