Emily Pidgeon

Emily is the youngest ever distance runner to be selected for a GB representative team.  She has won the European Junior 5,000m title and holds British Under-15 and Under-17 3,000m records as well as junior 2,000m and 3,000m steeplechase records.  Her steeplechase time is already sufficient to qualify for the Commonwealth games. 

In April 2010, Emily won the Sheffield Lord Mayor's 10K race, achieving a new personal best of  32.32 and the fastest time this year by a British female. During 2009, she came second in the 1500m at the Birmingham Indoor Games, and third in the 3K in the World Indoor Championships trials.  She also took part in the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh and won the 3,000 metres event in the Under-20 AAA National Championships at Bedford.

Emily's other achievements include being part of the GB team competing in the 2008 World Junior Championships in Poland.  She finished eighth, and was the highest placed Briton in the 5000m.  She also scooped second place in a close U20 3000m race at the 2008 Aviva London Grand Prix, at Crystal Palace.
