Managing competition and regulatory risk is vital.  Our EU and competition team includes leading practitioners with many years of experience advising on the most complex transactions and cases at EU and national level.  Our areas of expertise include merger control; cartel investigations; abuse of market power; EU single market issues; sectoral regulation; market investigations and sectoral inquiries; licensing, distribution and other commercial agreements; State aids; and public procurement.

We take a practical and proactive approach to addressing our clients’ competition and regulatory compliance needs, and attach great importance to understanding their business and commercial objectives.  Our team operates across our London, Brussels and Moscow offices, allocating resources where best placed. We have excellent relations with EU and national competition authorities, with members of our team having acted as non-governmental advisers to national and international competition bodies.  Our strong media contacts enable us to manage successful communications strategies.

We regularly represent clients before the European Commission, Office of Fair Trading, Competition Commission and other national competition authorities.  We also advise and represent clients in litigation in the national and European courts, as well as in their dealings with the European Parliament and European Ombudsman.
