Recent trends in UK public sector outsourcing and implications for business service providers

Summary: The UK public sector is already one of the largest users of outsourcing services in the world, and budget cuts in 2014 and beyond are set to keep demand strong. But this has not translated into a supply-side driven market. Measures adopted by central and local government, aimed at bringing value for the taxpayer, have had mixed success.
