In July 2013, the CMA Transition Team published draft guidance on its approach to market studies and market investigations (please view the draft).  The CMA will continue to have the power to investigate sectors or industries where there appears to be one or more features that are not working well for consumers. The proposals aim to ensure so-called Phase II "market investigations" (and their Phase I pre-cursor, "market studies"), will be managed in an efficient way.
