Emily Pidgeon

Emily is the youngest ever distance runner to be selected for a GB representative team.  She has won the European Junior 5,000m title and holds British Under-15 and Under-17 3,000m records as well as junior 2,000m and 3,000m steeplechase records.  Her steeplechase time is already sufficient to qualify for the Commonwealth games.  In March, Emily took part in the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh and, in June, won the 3,000 metres event in the Under-20 AAA National Championships at Bedford.

In July, Emily was part of the GB team competing in the World Junior Championships in Poland.  She finished eighth, and was the highest placed Briton in the 5000m.  Emily continued her return to form with a second place finish in a close U20 3000m race at the Aviva London Grand Prix, at Crystal Palace.
